How do I update customer card information in Stripe

For clients using BlueLena's direct integration with Stripe for donations and membership management, you can allow customers to update their credit card information by activating the Customer Self Service portal and providing a link on your website. For assistance with configuring this, please contact support@bluelena.io


Otherwise, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your Stripe account
  2. Under Account Settings (gear icon in top right) find “Customer Portal” under “Billing”
  3. Select Activate Link.
  4. Copy the link and save it for future reference. This may also be used in account- and billing-related emails and messaging. 
  5. Review the additional settings for client-specific configuration options or keep defaults



*Optional: In your BlueLena (aka ActiveCampaign) account, setup a variable to insert a "Manage My Account" link

  • Go to ActiveCampaign > Campaigns > Message Variables 
  • Create a new variable, such as %stripeaccountgeneral%. 
  • In the contents of the variable, paste the Stripe payment link (from step 4 above)
  • Adding “?prefilled_email=%EMAIL%” to the end of the account payment link in ActiveCampaign will bring the user to a prefilled version of sign-in form, reducing friction.
